Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges.

Examples include the following:

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.

Travel Vaccinations

The surgery is currently reviewing its policy on providing travel vaccinations to patients. If you require travel vaccinations we suggest for your own health, wellbeing and safety during your trip, that you access your immunisations at one of the following travel health centres:

  • The Globe Travel Health Centre, 26 Cattle Market Street, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 3DY

01603 667323  http://www.globetravelhealthcentre.com

  • The Travel Clinic Ltd. 41 Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 1NT

0330 1004127  http://travelclinic.ltd.uk

Please note we are not a registered yellow fever vaccination centre and are unable to give this vaccination. Your nearest centre is:

  • Bridge Street Surgery, 30 Bridge Street, Downham Market, PE38 9DH. Tel: 01366388888

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
